This is a project I am currently working on. As you might have already guessed the main subject of my project are deer. I basically aim to photograph them through seasons and take side notes of their behaviour and how to approach them.
[: 6th of November 2010 :]
I started taking pictures of these deers in the afternoon, maybe 2 hours before sunset. The small herd consisted in 1 runt, 3 females and 1 or 2 fawns. Most of the time, I spent with them, they were mostly grazing. They didn't really feel threatened of my pressence, so I could get really close to them. At a point they started to feel uncomfortable when I started getting inside their circle of fear and they started looking around suspicious while they were slowly moving away. So I had to leave my tripod behind and start proning carefully towards them in order to stay close to them. Slowly one after another they started lying in the shade made by the nearby trees. At this point I thought I could get in even closer to get some better group shots of them while they were lying down, but the innevitable happened... some random people approached and scared them off.... oh well.. all good things come to an end, right? :p Meh... I was a bit upset for missing those last shots there, but I can't get everything I want from the first day hehe..
